The Prophet’s صلى الله عليه وسلم Favorite Charity

A [woman] was forgiven by Allah, because, passing by a panting dog near a well and seeing that the dog was about to die of thirst, she took off her shoe, and tying it with her head-cover she drew out some water for it.
So, Allah forgave her because of that.
Imagine waking up one morning, parched and weary, only to remember you must walk miles to get your water for the day.
Imagine the weight of that journey—the exhaustion, the desperation.
For millions, this is their daily reality.
The Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) said that the best form of charity is giving water.
It may be hard for us to understand as we turn a knob, and it flows endlessly.
But for countless others, water is a luxury.
A matter of life and death.
When clean water arrives in a community, it’s a tidal wave of transformation.
Imagine the joy of a child tasting clean water for the first time.
Imagine a mother no longer walking miles under the scorching sun, her shoulders heavy with the weight of a water jug.
Instead, she spends that time and energy nurturing her family and helping her neighbors.
Imagine a village thriving because it finally has the foundation for life: water to drink, cook, clean, worship, and grow.
Clean water isn’t just about quenching thirst but building futures.
It’s about children going to school instead of worrying or fetching water.
It’s about families staying healthy instead of battling waterborne diseases.
It’s about communities flourishing because they have the most essential ingredient for life.
Every year, diseases from dirty water claim more lives than all forms of violence, including war.
Half of those who die are children under five.
These aren’t just numbers but lives cut short, dreams unfulfilled, potential lost.
In the Quran, Allah reminds us that He sends rain as a blessing, a mercy from the heavens.
Yet, human neglect and catastrophe deprived millions of this fundamental right.
Remember, Allah forgave a woman for all her sins simply because she gave water to a thirsty dog. If such a simple act can earn divine forgiveness, imagine the reward for providing water to our fellow human beings.
As we fast and feel the pangs of thirst this Ramadan, let’s remember those for whom dehydration isn’t a temporary but constant struggle.
Allah is Al-Ghani (The Self-Sufficient).
He doesn’t need our charity.
But He allows us to demonstrate our spiritual poverty and devotion to Him.
When we give, we’re not just helping others; we’re humbling ourselves before Allah, acknowledging that everything we have is from Him.
There’s something pure about giving online.
When you donate through your computer, there’s no immediate applause, no pat on the back, no smiles or thank-yous.
There’s no ego to satisfy.
It’s just you and your intention, purely for Allah.
It’s a testament to your sincerity.
And Allah rewards our intentions and our hearts.
So, no matter the amount, know that your donation can transform lives, including yours.
Don’t let Shaytan whisper that your contribution is too small or that you should wait.
Every dollar matters.
But if you can sponsor a well, imagine the thousands who will drink from it and the generations that will thrive because of it.
Imagine a village transformed, each individual living more fully because of you.
Imagine the Alhamdulillahs that will echo through the years and the prayers that will rise to the heavens, all because of your generosity.
Click here to donate now and be the reason someone drinks clean water for the first time.
👶 SunnahStories:

Upon the hills where rivers flow,
A kind man walked, both strong and slow.
With two strong ropes across his back,
He carried pots that held no lack.
One shone bright, of brass so bold,
It stood with pride like gleaming gold.
"I am strong, I do not break!
Unlike you, a big mistake!"
The clay pot sighed, with voice so low,
"Yes, I leak, this much I know."
"Each day, I try to hold my share,
Yet water slips—I’m worse for wear."
The brass pot laughed, so firm and tall,
"Why does he use you, weak and small?"
"You spill the drops, you waste the load,
Why do you walk this dusty road?"
But Kareem, wise, with heart so true,
Turned to his pots with love that grew.
"Oh clay pot, see? Look near your side,
Where flowers bloom both far and wide!"
"The water lost was never gone,
It fed the seeds, it made them strong."
"Each step we took, new life began,
For Allah writes a perfect plan."
The clay pot smiled, no longer weak,
For now, it saw what it did seek.
The brass pot bowed, its pride now thin,
For strength is more than what’s within.
And from that day, they walked as friends,
For Allah’s wisdom never ends.
Reflection Questions:
1️⃣ Why did the brass pot think it was better than the clay pot?
2️⃣ How did the clay pot feel about its flaws?
3️⃣ What lesson did Kareem teach about purpose and value?
4️⃣ Can you think of a time when something you saw as a weakness was a blessing?
5️⃣ How does Islam teach us to appreciate our strengths instead of comparing ourselves to others?
