The Month of Forgotten Blessings:

Reviving the Sunnah of Sha’ban

Reading time: 2 minutes

That is a month to which people do not pay much attention, between Rajab and Ramadan.

It is a month in which the deeds are taken up to the Lord of the worlds, and I like that my deeds be taken up when I am fasting

As we enter the month of Sha’ban, we are given a golden opportunity to renew our relationship with Allah, cleanse our hearts, and strengthen our faith.

Just as athletes train before a big competition, we must prepare before Ramadan.

The beauty of Sha’ban is that it offers us a proactive approach to spirituality rather than a reactive one.

Instead of waiting for Ramadan to make changes, we use this month to warm up, reflect, and refine our habits so that when Ramadan arrives, we are ready to immerse ourselves in worship with complete sincerity and devotion.

Spiritual Alertness: Seizing Every Opportunity

Sha’ban trains us to develop spiritual alertness, the ability to recognize and seize spiritual opportunities in our daily lives.

To be spiritually alert means to be fully present in our daily prayers, willingly give charity even when we fear poverty, extend forgiveness even when it’s not expected, and fast voluntarily when others are eating.

This is the mindset that sets apart those who are spiritually vigorous from those who are simply coasting.

The Time to Shine

Sha’ban is our chance to excel.

Good deeds are often overlooked during this month, but that’s precisely why they are so valuable.

It provides a time for us to introspect, reflect, familiarize ourselves with our spiritual strengths and weaknesses, and strategize how to optimize our Ramadan experience.

We build spiritual momentum so that when we enter Ramadan, fasting feels easier, prayers feel deeper, and our connection with Allah feels stronger.

The Gift of Preparation

In His mercy, Allah does not leave us guessing.

He has shown us the best times and ways to seek His blessings, and Sha’ban is one of those times.

Not only do we receive immense spiritual rewards, but we also develop a certain level of spiritual resilience that can help us through times of hardship.

As we journey through the month of Sha’ban, let us remind ourselves that it is not just about showing up but about truly surrendering to Allah’s will, loving, worshipping, and obeying him wholeheartedly.

Indeed, our time to shine is now.

Let’s use Sha’ban wisely so that when Ramadan arrives, we are not simply starting—we are soaring.

🤲 Make Du’a for Mina 🤲

Ya Allah, Most Merciful and All-Knowing, guide Mina to the right path and strengthen his faith. Fill his heart with peace, clarity, and a deep connection to You.

Oh Allah, bless his business with success, barakah, and growth. Open doors of opportunity and grant him prosperity in a way that benefits him, his family, and the Ummah.

Grant him true happiness and fulfillment in both this life and the Hereafter. Surround him with Your mercy, protect him from hardship, and make him a source of goodness.

Ameen.🤲🏽
