Suhaib ar-Rumi (RA), also known as Suhaib the Roman, was one of the early converts to Islam and a devoted companion of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ.
Suhaib (RA), originally an Arab who was taken as a slave when he was a child to the Byzantine Empire then sold back to the Arabs, hence the nickname "ar-Rumi" (the Roman).

When Suhaib (RA) heard about the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ and his message, he was deeply moved. He was among the early converts to Islam, embracing the new faith despite the risk of persecution from the Quraysh.
As the persecution of Muslims in Makkah intensified, the Prophet ﷺ advised his followers to migrate to Madinah, where they would find refuge and support.
Suhaib (RA) was determined to join the Prophet ﷺ and his companions in this new sanctuary. However, his wealth and success in Makkah made him a target for the Quraysh, who did not want him to leave with his riches.
Suhaib's (RA) hijrah to Madinah is a testament to his extraordinary faith and willingness to sacrifice everything for the sake of Allah.

Without hesitation, Suhaib (RA) agreed to give up all his possessions, saying,
"You know I am one of the best archers and by Allah, you will not reach me before I run out of arrows. But if you want, I will tell you where my wealth is hidden, and you can take it."
The Quraysh, eager to gain his wealth, accepted the offer and let him go.
Suhaib (RA) arrived in Madinah penniless but was warmly welcomed by the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ and the Muslim community. The Prophet ﷺ, upon hearing Suhaib's story, remarked,
