The Khan Family
O Allah, the Most Merciful and Most Generous, we ask You to shower Your endless mercy upon Izaz Khan and his family. Grant him complete shifa (healing) from any illness, strengthen his body, and fill his heart with tranquility.
O Allah, keep his family steadfast upon the path of righteousness, protect them from the whispers of Shaytan, and draw them ever closer to the love of Your beloved Prophet Muhammad ﷺ.
Make their home a place of peace, love, and iman. Enrich their hearts with gratitude, patience, and sincerity. Guide them toward what pleases You and keep them under Your divine protection in this life and the next.
Ameen, Ya Rabbal 'Alameen.
Bismillah. Welcome to DailySunnah.
Ahh, Ramadan—the month of blessings, mercy, and… wait, why am I still struggling?
If Shaytan is supposedly locked up, why do bad habits still creep in?
If you’ve ever wondered why temptations persist despite the spiritual high of Ramadan, you’re not alone.

🌴 We’ve reached 30% of our goal! Please help us support 1,000 families this Ramadan. ⬇️
This Ramadan, The Daily Sunnah is partnering with Islamic Ummah Relief to support orphans and widows in Africa—because no one in our Ummah should go hungry or thirsty.
The Prophet ﷺ said that when Ramadan comes, the gates of Paradise are opened, the gates of Hellfire are shut, and the devils are chained.
But what does that mean?
Scholars explain that not all devils are locked away.
The major ones—the leaders of misguidance—are restrained, but the smaller ones, including our personal qareen (the internal devil), are still around, whispering and nudging us toward bad habits.
However, they are much weaker and far less effective—kind of like employees when the boss leaves early for the day.
Here’s the real challenge: Even if every Shaytan were locked up, we’d still have to face our own egos, which come with their own internalized voices.
How to Beat Shaytan: Insights from a Businessman
During the COVID-19 pandemic, a businessman found himself in a unique position.
He owned a store that provided essential goods, and while many people were struggling, his business was thriving. Instead of capitalizing on the opportunity for profit, he saw it as a chance to give back.
He and other local business owners organized a food drive, distributing groceries and essentials to struggling families.
One day, as he stood among volunteers handing out supplies, he reflected on the moment and said something beautiful:
“Alhamdulillah, the sweetness of being able to serve the people in the street is far greater than the sweetness of business picking up.”
And that’s precisely what it means when we say dhikr (remembrance of Allah) keeps Shaytan away.
When your heart is filled with gratitude, charity, and awareness of Allah, there’s no room for greed, arrogance, or selfishness.
Shaytan had no entry point in his heart because it was already occupied with something better.
Filling your life with goodness leaves no room for Shaytan to operate. When we are immersed in the Quran, dhikr, and acts of kindness, there’s no mental space for him to creep into.
And when we are emotionally grounded in gratitude, humility, and contentment, Shaytan loses his biggest inroads into our hearts.
Shaytan is like a psychologist who has been studying you your whole life.
He knows your strengths, weaknesses, and where your ego is most vulnerable—whether it’s wealth, pride, greed, or something else.
We are all fighting our own spiritual battles, so understanding ourselves and our opponent is crucial.
Remember: Shaytan’s power is limited
Allah tells us in the Quran that Shaytan has no real control over us—he can only whisper, suggest, and tempt.
It’s up to us whether we let our egos sit down and have a whole conversation with him or if we turn to Allah, leaving no space for his whispers to take root.
The messages may still come through, but those whispers will become easy to ignore if you’re busy having a much better conversation.
And eventually, you’ll be able to block Shaytan completely, tuning him out like background noise.
Reflect on this:
Where do you quickly fall into negative emotional loops or lose awareness of Allah?
Identifying these weak points is half the battle.
(We interrupt this broadcast with an effective remedy against shaytan)
We’re inviting 1000 People to Provide a Family For One Month.
Islamic Ummah Relief is on the ground, actively providing aid across 5 countries, reaching over 300,000 Families—but they can’t do it alone.
Right now, 800,000+ orphans and millions of widows in Nigeria are struggling for survival.
1 in 3 children are malnourished.
With just $50, you can provide a family with meals or clean water for a month.
Every donation will go directly to a family in need.
Be the answer to their du'as today.
( bismillah, now back to the broadcast)
👶 SunnahStories:
Upon a land so dry and wide,
Sheikh Idris lived with faith as guide.
He had a horse, so strong and bold,
A beauty worth its weight in gold.
One day it ran—just disappeared!
The village gasped, their hearts in fear.
"What misfortune!" they cried aloud,
But Idris stood so calm, so proud.
"Who knows?" he said, "What seems so bad,
May bring us joy—so don’t be sad."
Then one fine day, with hoofs so fast,
The lost horse had returned at last!
And not alone—it brought a prize,
More wild horses, strong and wise!
"What great fortune!" the village cheered,
Yet Idris smiled, his heart sincere.
"Who knows?" he said, "This gift so bright,
Might lead to hardship, out of sight."
Then as his son rode wild and free,
He fell and hurt his leg—oh, see!
"What a disaster!" the people sighed,
But Idris smiled and still replied,
"Who knows? This loss, this pain today,
Might be a gift in Allah’s way."
Then soldiers came from lands unknown,
To take the young men far from home.
Yet one was spared—Idris’s son,
For with his leg, he could not run.
The village gasped, their minds so bright,
"Sheikh Idris, truly, you were right!"
"Who knows Allah’s plan so grand?
His wisdom lies in His command!"
So when life shifts from joy to pain,
And back to happiness again,
Just trust in Him, both big and small,
For Allah knows the best of all.
Reflection Questions:
1️⃣ Why did the villagers think the lost horse was bad luck?
2️⃣ How did something bad (the broken leg) turn into a blessing?
3️⃣ What does Islam teach us about trusting Allah’s plan?
4️⃣ Can you think of a time when something seemed bad at first, but turned out to be good?
5️⃣ How can you remember this lesson when facing difficulties in life?
