Building Resilience

We endeavor to nurture an inner strength to stand strong in our principles, values, and faith, even when in the minority or under scrutiny.

Some of us bring our Islamic values to gatherings where we are the only Muslims.

Others maintain their principles, even when they may not align with the values of the people around us.

However, the resilience we strive for goes beyond self-preservation.

We have something valuable to offer the society around us.

We are here to serve and contribute with our deen.

Above all, we strive to follow the Sunnah.

We see a living embodiment of resilience and determination in the people of Palestine.

These are people under a brutal occupation for over seven decades, facing suffocation in every sphere of their lives, yet they refuse to be erased. They live their lives, insist on education, and express their liberation. They stay steadfast in believing they exist for a greater purpose than themselves. Through all their struggles, they serve as a legendary example of resilience.

We can learn from their courage and perseverance.

Remember that divine aid overshadows the machinery of oppression, and we must lend our prayers and support to our oppressed brothers and sisters wherever they are.

How can we translate this resilience into our lives and families?

The greatest way to instill certainty and love for Allah and the Prophet (saw) in our families is for them to witness that love and faith in our actions. How we manifest our resilience and faith will impact our children's understanding and relationship with Islam.

Carrying forward this legacy of resilience starts at home. Let us remember this, strive to show our conviction in our daily lives, and continually pray for our oppressed Muslim brothers and sisters.

May our lives be a testament to our unshakeable faith and resilience.
