🤲 Make Du’a for Asif Husain 🤲

O Allah, bless Your beloved Prophet Muhammad and his family, along with all who love him. Guide our Asif’s loved ones on the true path, grant us well-being, utilize them for Your cause without replacement, elevate their faith, expand their graves, provide shade on Judgment Day, grant them their deeds in their right hand, and bless them with the highest levels of Paradise. Increase unity, love, and mercy within their family, and provide a beautiful solution for their parents' care. Grant lawful provision, relieve their debts, bless their home with increasing blessings, and protect their children's hearts and minds. Enable them to complete Hajj, bring relief to oppressed Muslims worldwide, strengthen their belief in the Shahada, help them pray with concentration, teach and learn the Qur’an, give generously, and fast solely for Allah’s sake.

May we surrender to You lovingly and intelligently.

Allah the Almighty is pure and accepts only that which is pure.

A Cherokee leader explained to his grandson that every person has a war inside their hearts between two wolves.

“One is evil. He is anger, envy, jealousy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, and ego.”

He continued, “The other wolf is good. He is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion, and faith.”

The grandson thought about it and asked his grandfather, “Which wolf will win?”

The grandfather simply replied, “The one you feed.”

Al-Ghazali emphasized the profound interconnectedness of spiritual and physical purity within Islamic practice, teaching that the purification of the heart and soul is essential for drawing closer to Allah.

Our physical habits such as making wudu, ghusl, Eating halal, wearing halal, and earning halal should be viewed as ritualistic actions that purify our internal and external state.

Rumi once said, "Polish your mirror; and in truth, what you see is what you are," suggesting our external cleanliness mirrors our internal state.

Think of the heart as a shining crystal, beautiful and pure as Allah created it.

However, as we go through life, this crystal becomes clouded and dirty with transgressions like anger, jealousy, lying, and undue attachment to this life.

Consequently, acquiring a clean heart is not easy and requires constant self-evaluation.

This process requires us to do regular “heart checks” to ensure we focus our deeds and intentions for Allah alone.

Along with being externally clean, here are some ways to purify your heart:

  • Remembrance of Allah (Dhikr)

  • Reflection and Contemplation (Tafakkur)

  • Combatting the Nafs (Ego/Self)

  • Sincere Repentance (Tawbah)

  • Seeking Knowledge

This synergy between outward and inward purity is fundamental in attaining closeness to The Almighty.

Whoever looks after an orphan and provides for him, will be in Paradise with me like this," putting his index and middle fingers together.

🪞 Reflection:

Do you know that Salah is a gift given to us? Pray with this mindset and see how it helps you connect better.

What if we have wealth so we can give to the ones that don’t? Have this intention when gaining wealth so that there is more blessing in your wealth.
