Knowledge
When Allah wishes good for someone, He bestows upon him knowledge.
While Malcolm X was imprisoned, Malik El-Shabazz found freedom.
Stripped of the distractions of the outside world, he immersed himself in a rigorous process of self-education, voraciously reading books from the prison library and educating himself on a wide range of subjects, from history and philosophy to religion and civil rights. This intellectual awakening in prison marked the beginning of Malik El-Shabazz’s true purpose.
He overcame the first hurdle in the path toward Allah.
Knowledge provides the foundation for recognizing Allah, His commands, His attributes, and our obligations to Him. The more knowledge we have about God, the more we understand and strengthen our faith.
To attain this knowledge is to distinguish between truth and falsehood.
Ignorance doesn't allow us to dissect or discern truth from deceit.
The Prophet (saw) warned us of a time when the truth will be seen as falsehood and falsehood as truth.
Thus, knowledge serves as a protective shield, an internal compass to guide us unerringly toward truth and away from falsehood.
It is that guiding light that helps us to navigate through the intricate maze of life.
It shapes our perceptions, our judgments, and our attitude toward life.
It's easy to neglect seeking knowledge and getting caught up in the world's distractions.
Mundane things may consume our time, and our minds can be filled with trivial, fleeting things.
But remember, Allah has created us with a deeper purpose.
And the pursuit of knowledge and worship are the life force of our existence.
When we anchor our lives in knowledge and worship, we transcend the mundane and the ordinary.
Time is the soil where the seeds of knowledge are sown.
And knowledge makes the ordinary into the sacred.
How will you seek the sacred?
