We Hear and We Obey

🤲 Make Du’a for Dua 🤲

O Allah, as Ramadan arrives, grant Dua and her family the strength to fulfill their goals, increase in taqwa, and embrace lasting positive changes. Bestow ease upon her sister Kanza’s family in all their matters. Give her mother good health and healing. Bless the Umrah journey her mother and brother are embarking on. Provide her father with health, manage his diabetes, and bless both her parents for their nurturing love. Extend Your care to her mother-in-law, and her brother-in-law, and bestow peace upon those affected by conflict, especially in Palestine, granting them freedom and justice. Guide their children towards righteousness, protect them from harm, and let them be a source of joy for us.
Ameen!
What I have forbidden for you, avoid. What I have ordered you [to do], do as much of it as you can. For verily, it was only the excessive questioning and their disagreeing with their Prophets that destroyed [the nations] who were before you.
We hear and we obey.
An incident regarding Abu Bakr al-Siddiq(RA) shows us the true meaning of this.
After the Prophet ﷺ was miraculously taken by night to the furthest mosque in Jerusalem, the people began to talk about it.
Some of them renounced their faith and belief in him. They looked for Abu Bakr al-Siddiq(RA) and they said,
“Have you heard that your friend imagined he was taken by night to the sacred house?”
Abu Bakr al-Siddiq(RA) said, “Did he say that?” They said “Yes.” Abu Bakr said, “If he said it, then it is the truth.”
They said, “Do you believe he went by night to the sacred house and returned before morning?”
Abu Bakr al-Siddiq(RA) said, “Yes. Verily, I believe something even more astonishing than that. I believe he has received revelations from heaven for everything he does.” For this reason, Abu Bakr was named the Truthful, al-Siddiq."
This code forms a significant part of a believer’s constitution, underscoring the critical role of obedience and surrender to the divine injunctions delivered via the Prophet ﷺ.
It is abundantly clear, that there can be no ultimate obedience to Allah without obedience to His Messenger ﷺ.
Who knows us better than the one who created us? Can anyone be more intimately familiar with our needs than Allah?
As Allah advises us through the Prophetﷺ in the Quran, it is unfitting for a believer, to harbor any contradiction in their heart against Allah’s instructions.
However, we have to be realistic, despite striving for perfection, we are ultimately fallible by nature.
It’s okay to make mistakes. None of us would ever be able to execute all of Allah’s instructions to perfect measure. it’s not about perfection but about continual progress and honest effort.
Witnessing how this principle guided the lives of believers in the past offers impactful lessons for us today.
One of the most remarkable indicators of your spiritual standing with Allah is the speed at which you shift toward His rulings rather than away from them.
How quickly do you cast off your sinful or disliked habits for His sake?
Whoever looks after an orphan and provides for him, will be in Paradise with me like this," putting his index and middle fingers together.
