Living Our Faith Through Tangible Acts
Reading time: 1 minute
🤲 Make Du’a for Asif Husain 🤲
﷽
O Allah, bless Your beloved Prophet Muhammad and his family, along with all who love him. Guide our Asif’s loved ones on the true path, grant us well-being, utilize them for Your cause without replacement, elevate their faith, expand their graves, provide shade on Judgment Day, grant them their deeds in their right hand, and bless them with the highest levels of Paradise. Increase unity, love, and mercy within their family, and provide a beautiful solution for their parents' care. Grant lawful provision, relieve their debts, bless their home with increasing blessings, and protect their children's hearts and minds. Enable them to complete Hajj, bring relief to oppressed Muslims worldwide, strengthen their belief in the Shahada, help them pray with concentration, teach and learn the Qur’an, give generously, and fast solely for Allah’s sake.
May we surrender to You lovingly and intelligently.

I have been ordered to fight against the people until they testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allah and that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah, and until they establish the salah and pay the zakat. And if they do that then they will have gained protection from me for their lives and property, unless [they commit acts that are punishable] in Islam, and their reckoning will be with Allah.
Placing Salah (prayer) and Zakat (charity) immediately after the Shahada (testimony of faith) is a profound demonstration of faith in action.
This sequence highlights the intrinsic connection between belief and practice, underscoring the importance of not only professing one's faith but also living it through tangible acts.
Salah, as the cornerstone of our spiritual connection, offers more than just a ritual; it's a discipline that shapes our lives, instilling good manners, time management, and sincerity.
If our Salah is sound, then our lives are likely to be intact, while inconsistencies in our prayer often reflect the challenges in our personal and worldly matters.
Discipline, as championed in Salah, manifests in the decisions we make in our lives.
It teaches us to prioritize tasks, like the dawn prayer, Fajr, reflecting the importance of timeliness and significance in our daily lives.
Zakat manifestation of divine generosity that nurtures our financial health and societal harmony.
Through Zakat, we develop a sense of compassion, gratitude, and responsibility, promoting equity.
It was reported that while a person was in the wilderness, he heard a voice from the cloud (commanding it thus): Irrigate the garden of so and so.
After that, the clouds slinked aside and poured water on the stony ground.
It filled a channel amongst the channels of that land, and that person followed that water, and he found a person standing in the garden, busy changing the course of water with the help of a hatchet.
He said to him: Servant of Allah, what is your name? He said: So and so.
And it was that very name which he had heard from the clouds.
He then said to him: Servant of Allah, why do you ask me my name?
He said: I heard a voice from the clouds, which is the downpour, saying: Water the garden of so and so, like your name.
What do you do (for the favor) shown to you by Allah in this matter?
He responded with his secret.
Everything that he earns, he cuts it into into three parts:
1/3 that is for his family
1/3 for investments
1/3 for charity
This is the divine equation for good in our lives.
This practice encourages us to incorporate giving into our daily routine, fostering a legacy of compassion and generosity within our families.
Together, Salah and Zakat illuminate our path, enriching our lives with spiritual abundance and material blessings, weaving a tapestry of harmony and goodness in our existence.
In all this, humility and awareness of Allah’s omnipresence should guide us.
Whoever looks after an orphan and provides for him, will be in Paradise with me like this," putting his index and middle fingers together.
