Has not Allah made things for you to give in charity? Truly every tasbeehah [saying: 'subhan-Allah'] is a charity, and every takbeerah [saying: 'Allahu akbar'] is a charity, and every tahmeedah [saying: 'al-hamdu lillah'] is a charity, and every tahleelah [saying: 'laa ilaha illAllah'] is a charity. And commanding the good is a charity, and forbidding an evil is a charity, and in the bud`i [sexual act] of each one of you there is a charity.
How is it possible to give non-monetary charity?
Wealth and bounty don’t exclusively pertain to monetary or material possessions.
Spiritual actions like saying ‘SubhanAllah (Glory be to Allah),’ ‘Alhamdulillah,’ ‘Allahu Akbar,’ and performing good deeds are all considered acts of charity in the sight of our Creator.
Similarly, acknowledging the phrase ‘La ilaha ila Allah’ holds profound significance, providing spiritual strength and enlightenment.
These simple, everyday gestures of faith manifest as sources of immense spiritual reward. Our faith in Allah’s omnipotence is a tremendous act of charity in its rightful sense and severs the connection between physical wealth and spiritual virtue.
In this context, the proclamation of our faith serves not just as an act of charity but an act of personal growth and spiritual accumulation.
The enjoyment and fulfillment derived from seeing the pleasure of Allah in our acts of charity are far more significant and satisfying than any fleeting worldly desire.
In the grand scheme of things, we are encouraged to raise our bar and redefine our concept of giving.
It urges us to incorporate these seemingly simple but profoundly rewarding acts into our daily lives, even if we are giving monetary charity.
Engaging in constant remembrance, generous deeds, and spreading love are part of this journey towards being closer to Allah and achieving eternal peace.
May Allah's peace, mercy, and blessings be with us all on this journey of self-betterment and spiritual growth.
