Measured Out

We Know But Allah Knows Better

🤲 Make Du’a for Fatima 🤲

O Allah, the Most Gracious and Merciful, we send endless blessings and salutations upon our beloved Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ). Shower Your infinite mercy upon Your entire creation, enveloping us in Your love and compassion. We stand in awe of Your majesty and boundless generosity, praising You for the countless blessings You have given us. Our hearts overflow with gratitude, Alhamdulillah, for every moment and every breath. O Allah, Grant Fatima, and her family all the good that the Prophet ﷺ asked for and protection from all the evil that the Prophetﷺ asked for.

And know that if the nation were to gather together to benefit you with anything, they would not benefit you except with what Allah had already prescribed for you. And if they were to gather together to harm you with anything, they would not harm you except with what Allah had already prescribed against you. The pens have been lifted and the pages have dried.

Once, Prophet Musa (AS) asked Allah to grant him knowledge and wisdom beyond any human being had ever possessed.

Allah responded by telling him to seek out a servant of His who possessed such knowledge. Musa (AS) set out on his journey and eventually came across Khidr (peace be upon him), who agreed to teach Musa (AS) valuable lessons about Allah's wisdom.

As they traveled together, Khidr performed actions that seemed to be immoral and unjust to Musa (AS).

Musa (AS) could not understand the wisdom behind Khidr's actions and questioned him repeatedly.

Khidr explained that everything he did was according to Allah's divine decree and that there was a greater wisdom behind every action.

The story of Prophet Musa (AS) and Khidr teaches us that sometimes, we may not understand the reasons behind our trials and hardships.

The Qadr (Divine Decree) brings us to what could be deemed the fifth and arguably one of the most significant articles of Islam's faith.

‘Qadr,’ often translated as predestination, originates from the root word that signifies ‘a measuring out.’

This conveys the essence of Qadr - that everything we encounter, every aspect of creation, each event and circumstance in our lives, has been ordained and measured out by the divine.

We get to make our own choices.

Whether we are kind, study hard, or help others, these are our choices.

Allah knows our choices, but He lets us choose our path.

It's like walking through a forest that Allah has seen from above. He knows where the path goes and our choices along the way.

But we're walking the path, deciding whether to take steps forward, pause, or choose one fork in the road over another.

Our choices shape our journey, but the path's existence and its possibilities are part of Allah's knowledge.

Ultimately, we should understand that while there are predetermined aspects of our life—such as our parents, our skin color, and our place of birth, known as Jabriyya—there are aspects we can influence, called Kasb.

These are the aspects for which we will be held accountable for.

Remember that Allah is always with us, guiding and protecting us, and that with hardship comes ease.
