None of you [truly] believes until he loves for his brother that which he loves for himself.
Abu Bakr al-Siddiq (RA), was known for his deep piety, generosity, and commitment to helping those in need.
Despite his status and responsibilities, he maintained a practice of personally attending to the needs of the poor and vulnerable in his community.
Among those he served was an old blind woman living on Medina's outskirts. Before dawn, Abu Bakr (RA) would discreetly visit her home to assist her every morning.
He would clean her premises, ensure she had water, and prepare her meals for the day, all before she even woke up. He performed these acts of kindness anonymously, preferring humility and seeking only Allah's pleasure.
One day, Umar ibn Al-Khattab (RA), after noticing Abu Bakr al-Siddiq do this a few times, decided to follow him. To Umar’s astonishment, he discovered Abu Bakr had been selflessly serving the old blind woman.
Umar (RA) was moved by this act of humility and service, realizing the depth of Abu Bakr’s compassion and commitment to the welfare of others, regardless of their status or ability to give thanks.
