THE DAILY SUNNAH

Reading Time: 2 min

Help your brother, whether he is an oppressor (by preventing him from oppressing others) or he is an oppressed one.

🤲 Make Du’a for Palestine 🤲
May innocent children, women, and men who are victims of our collective evil rest in peace as they return to the One who is all-loving and most kind.

May they experience an eternal life of bliss where they will never again have to hear another explosion or experience another painful wound. May their loved ones who are left behind find the inner peace and fortitude to live on.

May God forgive us for our evils here on earth and for our lack of compassion, courage, and wisdom in these times. May God grant us strength and patience and show us the enlightened way of forgiveness, reconciliation, and peaceful coexistence.

Ameen.

Imam Sohaib Sultan (May Allah Be Pleased With Him)

Armed with divine signs and his brother Harun (AS) by his side, Musa (AS) confronted Pharaoh, showing him the truth of Allah's power through miracles, including his staff turning into a serpent and his hand glowing white. However, Pharaoh's heart was sealed with arrogance. He summoned his magicians to replicate Musa's (AS) miracles, but when they recognized Allah's true power, they prostrated in belief, further enraging him.

Pharaoh's tyranny grew, intensifying the Israelites' persecution, but Musa (AS) continued to advocate for justice and faith, guiding his people and relying on Allah’s support. The ultimate test of faith came when Musa (AS) led the Israelites away from Egypt, with Pharaoh's army in pursuit. Trapped between the soldiers and the sea, the community was fearful, but Musa's (AS) unwavering faith in Allah's help prevailed. By Allah’s command, he struck the sea with his staff, parting it and paving a path to safety for the believers. When Pharaoh and his army attempted to follow, the sea closed upon them, ending tyranny.

Remember, Allah is ever in control. Despite the perceived power of those oppressing, we should not forget His ultimate authority. Often, your true power lies in the unseen, in our connection with Allah.

When we strive for justice, do not lose heart. Instead, rely on Allah’s help, just as Musa(AS) taught his followers. Allah owns the world, and all power, aside from His, is an illusion.

The process of liberation takes time and requires unwavering faith. We ensure we do not perpetuate oppression when we stay connected to Allah, especially during difficult times.

However, many of us are often impatient, expecting results to materialize instantly, thinking that our own power and efforts are the source of victory. This illusion disconnects us from Allah. And in these times, we must remember that prophecy never guarantees instant victory. Rather, it assures us that the final outcome will favor those who continuously remember and depend on Allah during their struggles.

Remember that Islam is not a religion of oppression. Our Prophet (saw) assured us that everyone, even the ones oppressed, will find justice. Amidst the struggles and challenges, do not lose hope. Even when the world tries to harm you, they can only proceed as far as Allah has written for us.

The power of Allah surmounts any human power.

Under oppression and fear, understand that propaganda is not a new strategy. We have repeatedly seen oppressors twisting narratives to achieve their purpose. Oppressive forces have always tried to distort the image of Islam and frame its believers as bringers of disorder and disruption. In these times, it is crucial that we continue to uphold and live by the teachings of the Prophets, remembering that every struggle faced by the Ummah today has been dealt with before.

Amidst these times of difficulties, remember that we are not alone. Allah is with us, always. Turn to Him when scared, helpless, or lost. Raise hands in dua and rely on his power. And through the fear and frustration, continue moving forward. Remember that the antidote to fear is dua; when free of fear, we become invincible. Allow the calamities to increase our Iman, and remember that the best people on earth right now are those, like the Palestinians, who face the greatest tests.
