A Father’s Unimaginable Strength
Some stories shake you to the core.
Some stories remind you that the strength of a believer is not just in words but in action.
This is one of those stories.
Over a decade ago, in an Islamic school, there was a principal, a gentle and wise man from Thailand.
He carried himself with dignity, always guiding his students and teachers with kindness.
Years passed, and life moved on.
One of his former teachers lost touch with him, as we so often do when time and distance separate us.
But recently, fate or rather, divine decree brought them back together at a conference.
The principal had aged, now in his seventies, on the verge of retirement.
But it wasn't just time that had changed him.
Life had carved deep lines of loss and resilience into his soul.
First, his beloved wife—the heart that had beat alongside his for decades—was diagnosed with cancer.
And then, she was gone.
Just like that.
Then, another blow.
His son, only 21, was out delivering pizzas one night.
A routine night, a regular shift
Until it wasn’t.
In an act of pure cruelty, a man took his life.
No reason, no warning—just a senseless act of violence.
A father was woken at 3 AM with a phone call that shattered his world.
Your son is gone.
How does one even begin to process such loss?
When his former teacher sat down with him and asked, “How did you cope?
How did you survive this?”—his answer was not what anyone would expect.
For two years, he had been trying to meet the man who killed his son.
Not to confront him or demand justice.
But to forgive him.
Yes, to forgive him.
He pleaded with the lawyers, requested special permission, and did everything just to sit across from the man who had stolen his child.
The system wouldn’t allow it. The killer was in maximum security.
But then, finally, the moment came. In a courtroom, they met at last.
And what did this grieving father do?
He hugged him.
He embraced the man who had taken his son from him. And with words that shook the hearts of all who witnessed it, he said:
“On behalf of myself and my late wife, I forgive you.”
"If possible, I would take these shackles off you myself. I would teach you, guide you, and give you a new path. But this is your test now—make the most of it."
The entire courtroom was in tears. Even the judge, overcome with emotion, had to call a recess.
Why?
Because he wanted this man to be forgiven by Allah.
Because he wanted him to find guidance, to find truth, and to enter Jannah alongside his son.
This isn’t a fairy tale.
This is real.
And it is only possible with Iman.
Without faith, this kind of mercy does not make sense. Without belief in Allah, in the Hereafter, in divine justice this level of resilience is unimaginable.
May Allah grant us even a fraction of this man’s faith. And may He reunite him with his son in the highest ranks of Jannah. Ameen.

👶 SunnahStories
One bright morning, in golden light,
Amina worked with all her might.
She carried grains upon her back,
Storing them in a tiny stack.
Above her sang young Sami free,
Perched upon a shady tree.
"Come and play! Just leave your load!
Why work now? Enjoy the road!"
Amina smiled, "Oh Sami dear,
Winter's coming, cold and near.
Allah loves when we prepare,
Just like Prophet Yusuf’s care."
Sami laughed, "You work in vain!
The world is full of fruits and grain!
Allah will send what I will need,
So I will rest and peck at seed."
The days grew cold, the winds did blow,
And soon the land was draped in snow.
The trees stood bare, the food was gone,
Sami shivered all alone.
With heavy wings, he flew around,
Until Amina’s home he found.
“Oh, dear friend, I’ve made a mistake!
I have no food; my wings now ache.”
Amina sighed, yet helped her friend,
But taught him wisdom in the end.
"Hard work and faith go hand in hand,
That is Allah’s perfect plan."
She shared some food, though not too much,
Then gave advice, a simple touch:
“Tie your camel, work with care,
Then trust in Allah’s loving air.”
From that day on, Sami knew,
That effort and trust must both be true.
He worked, he prayed, and in the end,
He found in Amina a lifelong friend.
✨ Moral: Hard work and faith go together—put in effort, then trust in Allah's plan.
Reflection Questions:
1️⃣ Why did Amina work hard while Sami played?
2️⃣ What lesson did Sami learn when winter arrived?
3️⃣ How does Islam teach us to balance effort and tawakkul (trust in Allah)?
4️⃣ Can you think of a time when you had to work hard for something? How did it feel?
5️⃣ What can we learn from Prophet Yusuf (عليه السلام) about planning for the future?
🌎️ UmmahSpotlight:

In a heartwarming act of generosity, the Ahmadiyya Muslim Youth Association (AMYA) in the UK donated a whopping 1.4 tonnes of food to the North Guildford Food Bank!
With food insecurity on the rise, these young volunteers from Bordon, Farnham, Aldershot, Farnborough, Ash, and Bournemouth stepped up big time—ensuring families in need start the year with stocked shelves and full hearts.
Zoe Watts, the food bank's stock manager, was stunned by the scale of the donation, calling it the biggest they’ve ever received! 🙌
Now, that’s what we call walking the talk. Faith in action, service to humanity.
May their efforts inspire more goodness!
