Critical Limit & Divine Care
He runs everything, from the heavens to the earth, and everything will ascend to Him in the end, on a Day that will measure a thousand years in your reckoning.
There is a concept called the critical limit.
When something reaches a point or threshold leading to dangerous territory.
To comprehend the connection between the critical limit and Divine Care, we look back to the story of Prophet Musa.
Prophet Musa’s life was filled with challenges from the beginning. Born into an era of Egypt ruled by the Pharaoh, he was spared the fate of many male Israelite babies who succumbed to the Pharaoh’s decree of mass massacre due to a foreseen threat of losing his reign. Despite the grim situation, Divine Care was imminent. The Almighty commanded Musa's mother to place him in the Nile River when fearing for his safety, promising her that he would be returned to her and be a messenger of Allah. This was the first critical limit.
In no time, Musa faced his second critical limit.
The basket-carrying Musa drifted into the Pharaoh’s palace while his mother, stricken by anxiety, was on the verge of exposing his identity. Yet again, Divine Care arrived. The Pharaoh’s wife found the child and pleaded with her husband to spare the child and allow him to live in their opulence.
While this turn of events was undoubtedly a sign of Allah’s divine care, it posed a complex predicament: How would Musa’s mother be reunited with him, given their contrasting social statuses? Prophet Musa refused to accept nourishment from anyone but his mother. This was Musa's fourth critical limit, impending starvation.
Once more, Divine care followed, and Prophet Musa was entrusted in the care of his mother.
Remaining patient, confident, and faithful to Allah's promises at the critical limit is the most significant weapon against adversity. Humankind, and particularly the Ummah, is at a critical stage. Emulating Prophet Musa's patience and trust in Allah's divine aid will see us through these times.
Our mission at this critical junction is to uphold the teachings of Islam and exercise patience, trust, and reliance on Allah. Every stride towards righteousness, every prayer offered, and every avoidance of sin brings us closer to the response from above – Divine Care from Allah Almighty.
