Allah Loves Those Who Are Trying

{Reading time: 1 minute

Allah loves those who constantly repent and He loves those who purify themselves.

Surah Baqarah verse 222

A common pitfall we encounter is falling into the hands of Shataan.

Shaitaan lures us into sin, causing a vast chasm to form between us and Allah.

Shaitaan then convinces us to wallow in guilt, too ashamed to seek Allah’s forgiveness.

This is a clever ploy, piling sin upon sin, edging us further away from our Creator.

This is why it is essential for us to repeatedly seek forgiveness, constantly repent, and strive to purify ourselves spiritually and physically.

Our efforts of constant repentance and purification are not unnoticed by Allah.

We sometimes overlook the intent of turning to Allah, the effort put forth to rectify our wrongs, which draws us closer to Him. We don’t need to attain spiritual perfection to be loved by Allah.

Our earnest and sincere trying is enough to earn His love and put us on a path toward purification.

Allah loves those who repent, i.e., those who don’t persist in their sins.

And Allah admires those who don’t yield to the same sins repeatedly, as this shows respect for Allah and earnestness in their repentance.

However, what if we fall short?

What if we earnestly repent for a particular sin but falter and commit it again?

Does it nullify our previous repentance and make us unworthy of Allah’s love?

Not really.

It’s a sign of our weakness, not a proof of false repentance.

However, continuously repeating the same sin, turning a blind eye to Allah’s teachings, and persisting in our wrongdoings could stand in the way of attaining Allah’s love.

Slips and stumbles will undoubtedly mark our journey towards spiritual purification; each mistake reminds us of our human fallibility.

But let’s never allow these setbacks to deter us from seeking repentance and purification.

After all, Allah loves those constantly striving to improve, regardless of their shortcomings.
