Finding Strength Through Faith

Reading time: 1 minute

A strong believer is better and dearer to Allah than a weak one, and both are good.

Adhere to that which is beneficial for you. Keep asking Allah for help and do not refrain from it.

If you are afflicted in any way, do not say: 'If I had taken this or that step, it would have resulted into such and such,' but say only: 'Allah so determined and did as He willed.'

The word 'if' opens the gates of satanic thoughts

If we feel weak or insecure, we might blame ourselves or our circumstances, fearing that we lack Allah’s affection because of our perceived shortcomings.

Yet this is not true. Allah loves all believers and recognizes their good qualities. Even as He advocates for strength, Allah acknowledges that all believers have unique abilities.

“Seek that which benefits you” and “Seek your strength from Allah” are statements made by the Prophet (ﷺ)

This strength is not limited to physicality. It refers to the strength of faith, resilience, spirit, and moral strength.

Our Islamic teachings encourage us to strive for strength, not for ego or pride, but to carry out virtuous deeds at a broader level.

Through our strength, we can better serve others and, in doing so, enact some of Allah’s most beautiful attributes.

We are prepared to empower and uplift them, to provide for them when they are going through tough times.

This is the essence of strength in Allah’s eyes. Being capable allows us to amplify these qualities, making us more beloved to Allah.

The Prophet (ﷺ) warned us against feeling helpless.

As believers, we should never feel defeated; instead, we should always strive to rise, to give more than we receive, and to be in a position to comfort rather than be comforted.

Our trust in Allah shouldn’t render us incapable.

On the contrary, we base our goals on our everlasting and unchanging Lord by renewing our intentions for higher, divine purposes.

This kind of dedication gives us true strength. It roots us in principles beyond this world's temporary desires, providing lasting resilience and purpose.

Each person’s unique circumstance should never be regarded as Allah’s dislike.

Instead, these challenges are designed to shape us into our best selves.

Remember, Allah crafted each of us perfectly; and even those we admire face their tests.

We might sometimes feel less blessed than others, but many of us possess unique gifts and perspectives shaped by our life experiences.

These are irreplaceable and invaluable.

Embrace your journey, recognizing that Allah has tailored your path with wisdom and care.

Every difficulty is an opportunity for growth, and every blessing is a chance for gratitude.

Through this lens, we can see our lives not as a series of obstacles but as a divinely ordained path to becoming our most faithful and best selves.
