Inner and Outer Beauty

A Pathway to Allah

Reading time: 1 minute

Allah is beautiful and loves beauty.

There is something naturally appealing about beauty.

It's hard to take our eyes off things we find beautiful.

This is by divine design, as Allah appreciates all forms of beauty, whether in creation, character, or actions.

Look around the world: the majesty of mountains, the serenity of rivers, the delicate intricacy of a flower.

All these are manifestations of Allah’s beauty.

Every aspect of creation, from the stars to the smallest insects, reflects the splendor and magnificence of the Creator if we can observe deeply enough.

Recognizing and appreciating beauty in the world around us draws the heart closer to Allah.

Seeing beauty in creation reminds us of The Creator, filling our hearts with appreciation and awe.

This awareness transforms everyday experiences into moments of spiritual reflection and connection.

We should also strive to emulate beauty in our appearance, not for ego or to be better than others, but for the sake of Allah.

We must take time to recognize and appreciate the blessings Allah has bestowed upon us.

Dressing well and maintaining a graceful appearance is a way of showing gratitude for His blessings.

It’s about celebrating these blessings without slipping into extravagance and pride.

The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) emphasized personal hygiene, neatness, and clean clothes.

In Islam, it is said that smelling good is considered an act of charity, as it pleases others even when we stop noticing the scent ourselves.

This attention to physical appearance reflects our respect for our bodies and ourselves.

Beyond physical beauty, Allah appreciates the beauty of the heart and character the most.

This means cultivating beautiful actions, thoughts, and character.

It’s a call to emulate divine attributes such as mercy, compassion, and kindness to improve our lives and the world around us.

There is a reason why we find specific actions beautiful and why they resonate so deeply within us, often more than physical beauty.

Such actions have the power to move our hearts.

This is why the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) inspired such deep devotion.

Every action he performed was done with absolute perfection, and every trait he exhibited was beautiful.

His impeccable character and actions drew people to him, making them yearn to be in his presence at all times.

Often, we aim to spread Islam through lectures and words.

However, by caring for ourselves and treating others with divinely inspired character, we can turn more people towards the truth than any amount of debating ever could.

Our actions, character, and how we carry ourselves speak volumes, far louder than words.

By embodying the principles of Islam in our daily lives, we become living examples of the beauty and truth of our faith.
