The Truthful Will Benefit From Truthfulness
Allah Notes Every Sacrifice You Make
Reading time: 1 minute
Abide by truthfulness. For indeed truthfulness leads to righteousness. And indeed righteousness leads to Paradise. A man continues telling the truth and trying hard to tell the truth until he is recorded with Allah as a truthful person.
There are times when we see ourselves as the victim, the righteous, or the truthful party in a conflict.
However, we might actually be the aggressor. During these times, we must challenge our perceptions and consult the lessons from the Quran and Sunnah.
Here, one may ask - have you ever felt cheated due to your principles?
Have you committed to ethical business conduct only to find the other party taking advantage, cheating, or lying?
Or perhaps you’ve walked away from a dispute or refused to descend to the level of someone causing you harm to avoid prolonging the conflict?
These moments of self-sacrifice and dedication to a higher moral code are not in vain. Allah notes each loss arising out of honesty, each missed opportunity due to ethics adherence, and each financial hit due to refusing to participate in unjust activities.
Sometimes in life, your honesty may seem to cost you an opportunity, and you may feel your honesty has caused you harm, but remember - every moment of truthfulness counts.
Allah notes every sacrifice you make. On the Day of Judgement, no transgression is tolerated.
And while it’s crucial to guard ourselves against becoming oppressors, it’s equally important to remember Allah’s promise - “this is the day when the truthful will benefit from their truthfulness.”
Wait patiently for your moment when all your sacrifices, your acts of truthfulness, and everything you let go of in the name of Allah will return to benefit you. Take comfort in this promise and continue holding onto your principles.
So, as we affirm the truthfulness of ourselves and the Prophets before us, we must remain truthful in our words, deeds, repentance, strive for Allah, and seek the ultimate reward from Allah.
May we join with the most truthful from Allah’s creation at the highest level of paradise. Amen
